In discussion with Tom Fletcher and some novelling links

I’ve just realised I’m been most remiss and not yet posted a link to this podcast, recorded with Richard Hirst of Bookish and Tom Fletcher, author of the wonderful Ravenglass Eye.

Topics include nature, fear, death, standing stones, the moors and plumbing, and as can be imagined, recording it was a lot of fun.

I also discovered a terrific blog recently – a blow-by-blow account of writing a novel by Neil Cross, creator of the TV series Luther and author of books including The Calling and Captured. It’s honest and no-nonsense and practical, and anyone setting out on the same journey could do a lot worse – there are some great pointers in there.

Lastly, the end is nigh . . . of this year’s Nanowrimo, that is. Massive congratulations to anyone who joined in and is about to cross the finishing post – it’s a great exercise to prove that the only way to write a novel is – well, to sit down and write a novel.
